Garfish in Olive Oil

As the popularity of tinned fish in our pantries has risen, our awareness of being good stewards of the ocean and the many delicacies it holds has also grown. Some fish have shown themselves to be more sustainable than others and garfish—the long, slender fish in this tin—has proven to be both delicious and resilient. The flavor of the fish is mild in flavor with a slight umami hit in the finish. Since it’s tinned in olive oil, the texture is flaky, rich, and a little firm so it stands up to crusty bread or toast or whatever vehicle you might use to move it from plate to mouth.
