Zingerman's Freshly Milled Wheat Porridge

Porridge, in general terms, was humanity’s first great way of cooking grains to release the nutrition and flavor locked inside. Oliver Twist loved it so much he took a beating to ‘have some more.’ Goldilocks risked life and limb (in a bear’s den no less) just for a bowl of the stuff. Now you can enjoy it at home without risk of injury thanks to Zingerman’s Bakehouse and their granite mill. 

Their cream of wheat is made from freshly, coarsely milled organic soft white wheat from Janie's Farm in Ashkam, Illinois. It makes a wheat porridge that’s smooth, nutty, and delicious.

Embellish it as you might your oatmeal, with dried fruits (these mulberries are especially great in it), maple syrup, honeys, or whatever makes it not too hot, not too cold, not too sweet, not too salty—just right for you.
