Raw Mini Pecans

The wonderful world of nuts has a new superstar... at least in my rankings. These precious pecans are smaller than your average fare and much more delicious. Why’s that? Location, location, location.

These pecans grow in Missouri where the growing season is shorter and the weather cooler than their more southern cousins in Georgia and the like. That sort of terroir means the tree doesn’t have as long to produce a big nut, instead concentrating all its goodness and flavor into a more compact, sweeter variety.

The nuts are raw and unsalted. A few minutes in the toaster oven brings their oils to the surface and maginifies their flavor by a factor of ten. A can’t miss snack or a great addition to baking projects.
